Reading Super Bowl!!

Are you ready for some READING? First and Second Grader's at Benton are gearing up for their annual Reading Super Bowl!  The Kick Off will begin January 27th with special a assembly, to get everyone pumped up about reading!  During the next week, classroom will team up against classroom to see which team scores the most touchdowns.  Students can only move their player down the field by reading at home.  Twenty minutes of home reading equals 20 yards to move down the field.  Teams will meet daily to move their players down the field.  The team with the most touchdowns will win the Reading Super Bowl!   Actually, we are all winners when we read!!!  The student from each classroom that scores the most touchdowns will be the Reading MVP Certificate!  All players that score a touchdown for their team will receive a certificate!

One of the highlights of the Reading Super Bowl is the Annual Tailgate Party!  This will take place Thursday, February 2nd from 5:30-6:30. Families are invited to attend with their reader!  A dinner of hot dogs, chips, cookies, and a drink will be provided to students and their families in the school cafeteria.   Teacher's will also provide some fun with various "football\reading" activities in the classrooms.  All Benton students who attend will get to take home a free book!

We hope you and your super bowl reader will be able to attend!!
