Back to Mrs. Berger's Homepage There's a biome bonanza going on and the sixth grade is caught right in the middle. We will spend the next few weeks researching the world's different biomes. You will have the chance to prove yours is the biome most in need of saving. Which biome will come out on top? That is for your classmates to decide. Here is your job. You will be divided into groups of
three and each group will be assigned a biome. Your job will be to
research your biome using the library and the Internet links provided.
You will write a report or create a map about your biome based on
your job listed below. Your group will also provide a public service
announcement about why saving your biome is important. Each team
member will have a specific job with a specific role. Process Your
group’s Zoologist will identify the biotic factors
(living things) and abiotic factors (quantity of light and water,
range of temperatures, type of soil, etc) of your biome. Your
group’s Researcher will find two problems that are
affecting your biome and describe what can be done to solve these
problems.
Each group member will be scored on their ability to work in a group as well as on their own area of the presentation. Below are the scoring guides for his project. Individual
Scoring Guide You
were a great group member, who helped others when they needed it
and completed your parts to the best of your ability and on time.

Total for presentation part of project:_____________/50
Horray!! You and your team did it! You should be very proud of yourself and your team! You've learned what it takes to make a biome function and all of the parts that make it a biome. Not only have you learned about the environments around us, but you've learned about the people around you by working together to accomplish a goal. It was a lot of hard work and it took a lot of creativity, but that's what the Biome Bonanze is all about.
