Technology Pledge

I, ________________________________, understand that I will be using the computer and have access to the internet on lessons and projects throughout the school year.

 

Rules:

  1. I agree to follow directions given by my teacher, both orally and written.
  2. I agree to use the computer only when instructed to do so by my teacher.
  3. I agree to use the computer as a tool for learning.
  4. I agree to respect the computer as part of school property.
  5. I agree to work only from the files and web sites given to me by my teacher.
  6. I agree not to click on any advertisements or pop-ups that might be on the web sites.
  7. I agree never to download without the teacher's permission.
  8. I agree that I will not access the Control Panel or Properties for any reason.
  9. I understand that it is my responsibility to shut off the monitor if something inappropriate comes on my screen. I will report it to my teacher immediately.
  10. I will always ask permission before printing.
  11. I agree to cooperate with other students when completing a project or an assignment and to respect classmates' feelings and opinions.
  12. I understand that if I am unable to share and take turns at the workstation, my teacher will help me to come up with a solution. If this does not resolve the problem, I will be removed from the workstation.
  13. I agree to only open my own files and to ask permission before using someone else's computer.
  14. When helping another student, I agree to use only my voice and allow them to use the mouse.
  15. I agree to use the computer appropriately, so as not to damage the workstation, software, or disks.
  16. I understand that it is my responsibility to report any accidental damage to the teacher immediately.
  17. I understand that I am never to put CD's or disks from home in the computer at anytime unless the teacher has checked it out first.

 

 

I know that I need to follow these guidelines or there will be consequences, including losing the use of the computer for a period of time. I also know that I will complete any assignments with paper/pencil, library books, and other resources as appropriate. Each incident will be looked at individually and dealt with accordingly.

 

I have read and reviewed the above contract and agree to its terms, limitations, and consequences.
