Parents and students at Northwest Elementary participated in our Spring Parent Night, "FULL STEAM AHEAD" (STEAM- Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics). Students, with the help of the family members, built bubble wands from pipe cleaners and straws, and tested them out to see the geometric shape that was created. They build towers out of straws and tape, that held a swinging bucket, and tested to see how much weight it would hold. Families got the chance to work together to make light bulbs shine bright using aluminum foil and built cup towers with rubber bands and string. They colored, discovered music using glasses of water, and even talked math shapes in our sports world. It was a fun night for all. What a joy to see parents working with their children to discover just how things work. Science ROCKS!!!
