Hello Marshall Owls Family:   It is my great honor to be able to announce plans made by Mr. Verts, Ms. Niemeyer, Mr. Wilcoxson, and the MHS Faculty and Staff for the celebration of the awesome Class of 2020!   Their new release is as follows:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marshall High School has postponed the 2020 Graduation originally scheduled for May 17th, 2020. We will be working with the Saline County Health Department and the City of Marshall officials to provide safe ways for our students, families, and community to celebrate the class of 2020. These plans will be developed with the objectives of keeping our community safe, while celebrating our students. The following information contains activities and dates for the recognition of the graduating class. The senior parade, prom and a traditional graduation ceremony will only take place if it is safe to do so.

May 17th - Senior Parade at 2 pm
This would be our senior send off and recognition of the significance of the original graduation date, May 17th 2020.  If it is safe to do so, plans for this event will be shared after discussion with city officials and the community.

Graduation Dates
The new, traditional commencement graduation ceremony date will be June 27th at 6 p.m., with a back-up option of August 1st at 6 p.m. The June ceremony will only take place if it is safe to have a traditional commencement. If it is not advisable in June, then graduation will be held August 1st. If conditions are still unsafe for an August 1st traditional ceremony, a modified graduation will be held.

Prom Dates
We have two dates for the reschedule of prom, these two dates coincide with the proposed graduation dates. The prom in each case would be held the Thursday night before graduation and would only occur if social distancing is over.  The first prom date would be June 25th at 7pm.  The second prom date would be July 30th at 7 p.m.

Although this is certainly not how we had planned to congratulate our newest MHS Alumni, we think the celebrations the MHS Administrative Team have developed will be really fantastic!  Of course, we will keep in mind social distancing and other safety measures, but we invite the entire community to take part in these special events.  Thank you for supporting and celebrating the Marshall High School Class of 2020!   Dr. Maher
