Southeast Families,


Just a few friendly reminders that I would like to share with you:


School Supply Drop Off and Pick Up

Scheduled for Monday, August 31 from 8:00-4:00 and Tuesday, September 1, from 8:00-4:00,
on the east side of the school. We will be sharing important information, notes, and car hangers,
from your child’s teacher. This event is for all of our in seat and distance learners. We will have
staff members who will meet you at your vehicle to give you this information and take your
child’s bagged supplies, as families will not be entering the school building. This will also be the
expectation for when we return to school.

School Hours
7:30 doors will open (There is not supervision before 7:30)
7:30-7:50 Opaa! To Go Breakfast will be served. Students will eat in their classrooms.
7:50 school day begins
2:53 students pack to go home
2:58 school day ends

We encourage your child to bring a water bottle each day. The water fountains are not available
at this time. We do have a water bottle filler in the north hall. Wear their mask. Temperatures
will be taken upon arrival. Face shields will be provided from the school.


Methods of Communication
Class DOJO will be our main communication tool. Please accept the invite from your child’s
teacher which will be received in a hard copy or email. We will also use email, phone calls,
textcaster, district and school website: www.marshallschools.com

Google classroom and google meets will be used for distance learning and instruction.
Students will have login cards for google from their classroom teacher. One card will be kept at
school and one will be for home.

Birthday celebrations
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept snacks or birthday treats. Your child’s birthday will
be celebrated and recognized within the school.

Distance Learners
You will receive daily correspondence from your child’s classroom teacher through any of the
above mentioned methods of communication. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-2:00 will be
designated days for picking up or dropping off your child’s school work. Library books will also
be picked up and/ or returned on these days as well. You can expect a live video on google
meet from your child’s teacher, 3-4 days per week, that will include a read aloud or morning
meeting. The teacher will inform you of their schedule and times, along with the expectations of
your distant learner. There will be recorded content lessons in English Language Arts and math
instruction with directions for activities/ assignments. These will be uploaded on google
classroom on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. All students will be distance learners
on Wednesdays, as Marshall Public Schools is in Phase 3. On Wednesdays there will be an
uploaded science or social studies lesson activity. Wednesdays will also include review and
practice of English Language Arts and math skills. We will be using Reflex for online math
practice. Art, music, PE and library lessons will be recorded and uploaded for your child once a
week. Always feel free to contact your child’s teacher if you need assistance or have questions
about your child’s learning. They will respond to you in a timely manner. On Thursday,
September 3rd, distance learners will pick up work for Friday and the following Tuesday.


Directions on how to log into your student’s google account.

1. Go to google.com and select gmail.


2. Enter the student’s email account from the teacher login card you will receive. This will
contain their graduation year (2nd grade 2030, 3rd grade 2029, and 4th grade 2028),
first initial and last name, @s.marshallowls.com.
For example: 2056abolling@s.marshallowls.com


3. Next, you will enter their password, also found on the login card you will receive from
your child’s teacher. The password is Owls and their 6 digit lunch pin.
For example: Owls012345


4. Once you have logged in you will go to the upper right side of the screen and click on
the 9 dots or the “waffle”.


5. Click on the Classroom (green chalkboard).
