Southeast Second Graders are working on Expository Non-fiction writing by researching and making "All About.." books, that include many different text features. In math, they are working on multiplication facts and learning about right angles.
First graders are learning to measure using centimeters and inches in math. We are becoming experts in our writing after researching a topic.
Southeast School will be dismissing at 12:30 tomorrow (Wednesday, April 5th) for Teacher Inservice.

Southeast Second Graders are working on Informational writing and All About books. In math they are finding the perimeter of a shape and counting a group of coins.
Southeast School will not be in session on Friday, March 17th-Tuesday, March 21st. School will resume on Wednesday, March 22nd.

Southeast First Graders have finished their Opinion writings. They are now learning to write How To and All About stories.
Southeast Second graders have finished their persuasive letters and have started opinion writing. In math they are learning to count quarters and are rounding numbers to the nearest ten. Watch for parent/teacher conference notes that will be coming home this week!

Southeast Second Graders are continuing their letter writing unit by composing persuasive letters. In math they have been subtracting 2 digit numbers and were introduced to equal groups stories (multiplication)!

Southeast Second Graders are learning to subtract 2 digit numbers and they are working on their friendly letters. Next up, they will write persuasive letters using a graphic organizer. On Friday, February 24 they will take part in a Willy Wonka Day!! Fun stuff!!
Southeast Second Graders have begun a letter writing unit. They are learning the parts of a letter and are composing friendly letters. They are also working on comparing and contrasting two versions of the same story using a Venn diagram. Alot of learning is going on!!
The character education word for February is acceptance! Mrs. Fann's first grade class performed at the Character Assembly today with a cute poem about accepting others! Way to go first graders!!
Second Graders at Southeast School have been writing "How to Stories" during Writer's Workshop. They focused on using the transition words of: First, next, then, and last! They wrote the steps for how to make a pizza. Today each student got to make individual pizzas following their steps. It was so fun!!
