Great news Marshall High School families! Our school is proud to now offer the Seal of Biliteracy program to recognize our graduating seniors for attaining biliteracy skills in English and another world language by high school graduation.

The Seal of Biliteracy is a formal award given to students who demonstrate fluency in English and proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking in a non-English language. Students who earn this seal on their diplomas and transcripts show future employers and colleges that they have achieved exceptional communication and language abilities in our increasingly global community.

To qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy at Marshall High School, students must meet the following criteria:
- Achieve English language arts proficiency standards on the state exam
- Score at the appropriate proficiency level on an approved language assessment exam such as AAPPL, STAMP or AP language exam
- Complete all other state and district requirements for graduation

This prestigious honor formally recognizes the hard work our students have put into developing their bilingual skills. Biliteracy is a valuable 21st century skill, and the Seal of Biliteracy elevates our graduates’ college and job applications.

Students interested in the Seal of Biliteracy program should talk to their school counselors for qualification details, world language assessment options, and the application process. Let’s celebrate and formally validate the outstanding multilingual talents of our Marshall High School students!
