A Good Cup of Joe, Poetry, and Snazzy Jazzy

Third and Fourth Graders at Northwest Elementary will be having their traditional Java Night this Thursday evening, February 27, 2020.  Students have been working on original poetry since early January of this year.  Poetry is such an important genre and so much can be expressed through poetry.  Some will make you cry, some will make you laugh, and some will make you ponder.  Our evening will begin with students being the wait staff at a Jazz Cafe.  They will be serving their family and friends hot beverages such as coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.  Our very own Marshall High School Jazz Band will be our live entertainment as well.  Students will then have the opportunity to read their masterpieces during the Open-Mic section of the evening.  We even ask that our audience snaps instead of claps for our poets after a reading.  It's sure to be a wonderful night.  We hope to see you there!  Third Grade Java Cafe is from 5:30-6:30 pm and Fourth Grade Java Cafe is from 7:00-8:00 pm.  This event is at the Martin Community Center.
