MPS had their Student Information System (SIS), called PowerSchool breached in December.
As previously communicated, the breach affected staff and students. Fortunately, students
Social Security numbers are not kept in the system and nothing that should compromise our
privacy or your family’s financial information was obtained in the data breach. If you
were affected, a letter to notify anyone whose child was a part of the breach has been sent. If
you did not receive a letter, your child was not a part of the breach. The letter came from IDX,
an Identity Protection Service, on behalf of Marshall Public Schools.
We are sorry for this inconvenience, but promise to stay vigilant in ensuring that the breach has
been stopped and protected against any future happenings. If you have any questions or
concerns, please call PowerSchool’s toll-free call center at 833-918-9464.
