Here is more clarification on the mask mandate beginning September 7th.
This sentence has been added to the Safe Return to School Plan. An option for shortening quarantine time: Quarantine may end following day seven after receiving a negative test result from a licensed healthcare provider (test must occur on day five or later).
For indoor extra-curricular events, masks are not required while actively participating but are required when not physically involved. For example, when sitting on the bench during a game or holding (not playing) a musical instrument.
Face shields have not been shown to be as effective as face coverings (masks), so shields may NOT be used in the place of masks.
