At approximately 10:35 p.m. Wednesday evening, fire broke out in the vicinity of the art room at Marshall High School.   The blaze was reported around 12:15 and the Marshall Fire and Police Departments arrived at the scene at  12:19. The fire was extinguished by the time school officials arrived, around 12:40.

Because of fire and smoke damage to the building, there will be no in-person classes at Marshall High School on Thursday, November 18th.  Teachers will post classwork in Google Classroom and students will need to participate in learning remotely.
All other Marshall Public Schools buildings will be open and have classes as a normal school day.  An announcement will be made early this afternoon communicating the plan for high school classes on Friday.  The district greatly appreciates the outstanding first response work of the Marshall Fire and Police Departments.
