On Thursday, April 24th Mrs. Kueker and Mrs. Otto gathered at the BMS library with 4th, 5th, and 6th grade members of the Mark Twain Reading Club. To qualify for this celebration, students had to read at least 4 of the 12 Mark Twain nominated books from this year’s list. After reading each book, students had to pass a comprehension quiz. In March, the students got to vote for their favorite nominated book and the votes were then submitted to the Missouri Association of School Librarians to help decide the 2024-25 Mark Twain winner for the state of Missouri. The students’ hard work was celebrated at the party by enjoying snacks, choosing a free book to take home, receiving a reading award, playing a game, and of course hearing the overall winner in the state. It was a fun afternoon celebrating the reading accomplishments and hard work of all of these students and they are already excited to start reading the Mark Twain Nominees for the next school year!
