Senior Parents and Students-
April 1st is Missouri's FAFSA priority deadline. Let us help you check that off your list!

It's always nice to have MHS alumni in the building! Thank you to Evan Weaver from Edward Jones for being our Cookies & Careers- Finance guest speaker today. Students learned about the business and finance path, classes and skills needed to be successful in this field.

If you are interested in taking the next National ACT test on April 13th, the registration deadline is quickly approaching on March 8th. If you have questions or need help registering, please see Mrs. Sims. Remember, fee waivers are available for those who qualify.

We had a great turn out for Cookies & Careers- Health Occupations with State Fair Community College. Students learned about the awesome opportunities that SFCC has for them to pursue their dreams in the healthcare field and bonus- they can use their A+!

During Mental Health Week MHS students heard from faculty member, Angie Keele, past alumni, Steven Sims, and expert, Josh Varner on stress management and mental health. As we move into 4th quarter we want to reminder our students that when life gets blurry, Adjust Your Focus!

Senior Parents-
For those who were not able to make our first FAFSA Frenzy event, we will be hosting a second FAFSA Frenzy on March 11th! Please join us at the SCCC Room 8 from 5-7.

Class of 2028 and Parents- Get Excited!! It's Freshman Orientation time! Please mark your calendars and plan to attend our Activity Fair and Freshman Orientation on March 6th. Meet coaches, sponsors, and learn about awesome opportunities that await you at MHS.

Here are details about our 4th annual tax night. If you received a W-2 for wages earned last year, we invite you to attend. We will help you file your taxes for free!! Tax night will be held in Mrs. Benitez's room (room 23) this Thursday, February 15th. You may come anytime between 3:30 and 5pm. Please see the flyer for details on what you should bring. You will also need to bring your computer.
Note: When you file your tax return, you will not be claiming yourself. You can still be claimed as a dependent by your parents or guardian. Filing your taxes does not affect your parent or guardian's taxes. If you have any questions about this, please let Mrs. Benitez know.
**In many cases students don't make enough to owe any taxes, so any amount that was withheld from your check for federal or state taxes could be returned to you.
Hope to see you there!

Hey MHS Parents/Guardians-

Even big kids get excited for holiday fun! MHS students really came together to compete in our annual door decorating contest this year. There was no way to choose just one winner!! If walking the halls didn't put a smile on your face, our two special elves today sure did!

Alberson the Elf is walking the halls of MHS!

Interested MHS students toured Missouri Valley College today. The historic campus paired with new state of the art buildings makes it a beautiful place to be. Small class sizes and personal connections with professors help you to know you're getting a great education.

The Fall Musical is next week!

Attention Senior Parents and Students-
Don't forget to get your FAFSA ID created before the FAFSA opens. Need help? We are here to support you. November 15th from 5:30-7:00 pm.

MHS celebrated Red Ribbon Week. We kicked off with an assembly from Next Gen. Through music and personal testimony they talked about living clean, authentic lives with a purpose. We also used the Safe & Sober Program focusing on alcohol, marijuana, vaping, and fentanyl.

MHS students interested in a career in health care were able to get on State Fair Community College's campus and check out their opportunities with hands-on activities. Many of the programs at SFCC are top ranked in our state!

UPCOMING CONCERT!!!
The Bueker Middle School and Marshall High School Orchestras will hold their annual Fall Concert on Thursday, November 2nd at 7:00 pm in the Harold Lickey Auditorium at Bueker Middle School.
