Wednesday, February 2, 2022 will be a half AMI day.

Join a few members of the board of education to discuss...…whatever topic we can.
We want to know what you're thinking, are there ideas we are missing?
Opportunities slipping by us?
Do you want to tell us how great your child's building has been?
Do you have questions about the district?
We want to know.
We want to know what your idea of the future looks like for MPS.
We want to know what we can do better, what we are doing right. what you and your child love most, need more of, etc.
Having this a week before a meeting gives us the opportunity to get a topic on the agenda and discuss it out loud as a whole board and try to find a solution, an answer or just a piece of mind that we are listening.
Format will be a town hall type meeting, available board members will call on those who wish to speak and then a discussion will begin. We ask that you be polite, refrain from profanity and respect those around you.
If you are unable to attend please leave your thoughts in the attached google form.

Also this event will be livestreamed. This link will be available by 5pm on the day of the event on the District website and Facebook.
We hope to see you there!!

February Early Dismissals.

Make-up days from last week's closure. According to the approved calendar, we will make up the first two days missed on the 26th and 27th of May. The 25th is now a full day and the 27th is a 12:30 out day. The next two days will be forgiven, since we have enough hours during the year built in. That means so far, Spring and Easter Breaks are still to be observed in full.
Marshall Public Schools WILL be in session Monday, January 25th.
Due to a critical shortage of teachers, staff, and students, the MPS Board of Education and Administration have made the decision to cancel all classes for the rest of this week. School will resume on January 24th. Dr. Maher will have information on make-up days and other issues in the next day or two. Thank you for your understanding and support of Marshall kids!

The district will make up today's closure (Jan. 18, 2022) on May 26, 2022. The decision about tomorrow's session will be made this afternoon, when Dr. Maher receives the count of absences from the principals.

A gas leak was discovered on a roof unit at Benton and the source was quickly shut off and closed. With the pleasant temperatures tomorrow, it will be comfortable while the unit is permanently repaired. All's well that ends well and the Benton students and adults will be back in their home nest tomorrow. Thank you to all for the fantastic help and support!
Additionally there will be no tutoring at Southeast or Benton today 12/9.
Due to an external gas leak at Benton Elementary School, students have been bussed to Spainhower Primary School. Parents may pick students up at Spainhower. Bus riders will be on their regular schedule. Please be patient in the car pickup lines at SPS, as longer time will be needed for the increase in students. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Dr. Carol Maher
